After 27 years of experience in the field of medical care at home, the White-Yellow Cross launches a call to all authorities of the Romanian state to collaborate on the significant improvement of the long-term care system, for the benefit of the patient. In this context, the event will address current issues such as ineffective regulations, insufficient budgets and the acute lack of qualified professionals in the field. The need to implement appropriate post-basic training programs to meet the growing needs will also be discussed.

Public private partnership and effective communication between authorities and accredited and authorized providers of medical and social services is essential for finding innovative solutions in the care of the chronically ill. That is why it is important to sit down at the table, talk and find solutions together. Integrated home care supported by telecare, teleemergency and telemedicine helps chronically ill patients manage their illness in the comfort of their own home. It is ten times cheaper to care for a patient at home than in a hospital, and this way of care not only saves resources, but also provides dignity and security for the person in pain – says Măriuca Ivan, president of the Crucea Alb-Galbenă Foundation from Romania .

The purpose of the event is to gather feedback from all stakeholders, including authorities, medical professionals and patients, in order to develop a comprehensive proposal to modernize the home care system. This proposal will later be submitted to the competent authorities for analysis and implementation.
