SRUC 2026 Conference – Day 2 | Education that turns experience into progress

Modern surgery advances through education, practice and the exchange of experience. Day 2 of the Romanian Shoulder and Elbow Meeting – SRUC / RESS 2026, held at K2 Alpin in Poiana Brașov, highlighted the growing importance of highly specialised education in Romanian orthopaedics.

The scientific programme focused on some of the most challenging topics in contemporary shoulder surgery: rotator cuff pathology, irreparable cuff tears, muscle transfers, shoulder arthroplasty in young patients and reverse total shoulder replacement. The practical dimension was reinforced by a Relive Cadaver Surgery session focused on rotator cuff repair techniques.

One of the strengths of SRUC 2026 is the direct dialogue between Romanian expertise and international experience. Day 2 brought together Romanian specialists including Dr. Negru Marius, EMBA, FEBOT, FRCS , Dr. Mihai Râşcu . Gabriel Darca, Dr. Ion-Andrei Popescu, M.D. MHBA , Dr. Florin Ciornohac, Dr. Radu Amon, Dr. Emil-George Haritinian, Dr. Radu Chindea and Dr. Nicolae Sârbu, alongside international experts such as Carlos Cobiella, Ashish Gupta, Henry Colaco, Philippe Schiepers, Dimitrios Karadaglis, Roland Camenzind, Louis Gossing, Merter Ozenci and Alexander Van Tongel.

This is about more than lectures. Debates, clinical cases, practical demonstrations and direct exchanges between surgeons are what turn a scientific meeting into a genuine educational experience.

This year’s faculty brings together 20 surgeons from six countries, with the meeting held under the patronage of SECEC – European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow.

Building such a professional community represents an important step forward for orthopaedics in Romania. Further specialisation in shoulder and elbow surgery means access to advanced techniques, international expertise and, ultimately, better medicine for patients.

As a Media Partner of SRUC 2026, En.Life Medical & News (www.en.life) supports medical education through what we believe matters most: communication, reliable information and connecting the people who move medicine forward.

Medical education should not end when a scientific session closes. Knowledge needs to travel further — to be communicated, understood and shared across the medical community.

Congratulations to SRUC / RESS, the organisers, faculty and all the orthopaedic surgeons investing their time in education and in the continued development of shoulder and elbow surgery in Romania.
